A perfect blend of many different influences while still feeling like something new and polished. You can hear what's borrowed, but there is a reverence and sophistication in the borrowing. Not one of those ridiculous dresses made out of recycled candy wrappers, but a really cool desk made out of reclaimed window shutters.
Favorite track: Persepolis.
Intricacies of psychedelic rock and progressive metal melt into the sensibilities of grunge, punk, and contemporary rock for a stew where all the ingredients work together to make a delicacy, while still presenting themselves as their own flavors. Melodies of bands like Tool, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, The Pretty Reckless, Melvins, System of a Down, The Bad Light, Stoned Jesus, Black Pyramid, Black Sabbath, and innumerable others come together for a record designed to appeal to many and few at the same time.
